Finally…

by Mr X on 27 October 2008

So it was back in September that I won the DMC prize for £100 of threads.
And then a couple of weeks ago I phoned them to see what was happening.
And then a week after that I phoned again.
And then finally today, the threads came!

Hallefrikkinlulah!

I’m quite pleased; I counted 104 different threads. There’s some neons, some light effects and some other shiny ones. I haven’t had a chance to really look at them, but I am glad they are here at last, and I shall now spend a couple of evenings winding them onto bobbins to soothe my special OCD. :)

Thanks folks! The joy of the win was tarnished by the length of time it took for them to arrive, but I’m glad they’re here.
Did a bit of bobbin winding last night, while I watched (ahem) America’s Next Top Model with my beautiful wife.
I’ve got quite a few satin threads, which are slippery little buggers, but I’ve got some thread heaven which will keep them in check.
There are some nice graduated threads as well, different shades of yellow on the same skein, that sort of thing. They look groovy, although they’d make a mess of a cross stitch pattern..!
But it’s all good!

YAY! Glad they came, I am so envious of your new thread stash. Soooo nice to wind them on bobbins, I do that too. And double YAY for you for watching ANTM. You certainly are a renassiance man ;)

Holy crap, that’s awesome. How much you wanna bet on your next project there won’t be the exact shade of yellow or something you want? I have 2 boxes of threads but I still manage to be missing that ONE color I need.

Awes. I want to start cross-stitching/embroidery, and I would love to have a pile of floss like that to begin. I’m jealous of the beauty you won… Congrats, though!
