One step forward, two steps back…

Obama gets in – which is good.
Proposition 8 goes through in California, which is so unbelievably narrow minded it’s astounding.

This pic is from hizKNITS, who is understandably outraged

It’s so upsetting. I was thrilled to see Obama win, but I kept looking for results on Prop 8 in the meantime. Hopefully since things are moving in a positive direction things will change.

it is very sad.. i have heard a lot of my friends complain about it and there is nothing i can do but say i am sorry the world we live in isn’t understanding and accepting to things like that. love is love.. but i agree with bridget it is still early on and we all know how things flip flop, maybe it won’t be the case for too long!

What a bummer. This issue goes waaaay beyond gay rights. It truly comes down to civil rights. I am Mexican and am married to a white guy…60 years ago it would have been illegal for us to be married. It’s the same thing and no one seems to realize it. It’s unfair and wrong! But people are not taking this lying down and there are something like a million ballots that still need to be counted…

It’s funny how these prejudices prevail. I hope there comes a time when they don’t.
