Watching: To be honest, I haven’t had much chance to watch telly recently. The new series of Celebrity Big Brother piqued my curiousity with an interesting mix of people in the house. Let’s face it, the combination of Coolio, Latoya Jackson and Verne “Mini Me” Troyer is interesting enough, but take those Americans and put them in a house with a bunch of British D-grade celebs and you’d think it would be a recipe for success/disaster. The biggest disappointment has been Page 3 “stunna” Lucy Pinder (not my words) who turned out to be a raving Tory and therefore destroyed any attractiveness she may have had when she opened our mouth and began an ugly bigot (I’m paraphrasing). Anyway, it looks like she’s been evicted so that’s something. My money’s on Verne to win.
Listening to: I got the new album from Q-Tip, “Renaissance” and it’s definitely one of the finest hip-hop/R&B albums of 2009. Q-Tip used to be in a Tribe Called Quest and is one of the most respected hip-hop producers out there. This album features artists like Norah Jones and Raphael Saadiq, and is a quality piece of work. It’s early days for me and this album, but I like it already!
Reading: I got a few good books for Christmas. I’ve opened “The Audacity of Hope” by Barack Obama, and will probably dig into it in some detail soon. I just think it’s an interesting title for a book – “The Audacity of Hope” seems a bit like “how dare hope exist, cheeky young thing!” What next? “The Presumptuousness of Dreams”, “The Cheekiness of Ambition”, “The Rudeness of Optimism”?
Over to you: What have you been mostly doing?

I always thought that title was funny, too.
“How DARE you, Hope. How DARE you.”
I’m reading Jennifer Government by Max Barry. I bet you’d like it.
