Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the Needlecraft section at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.
This special edition of the Pick of the Week is dedicated to my best craftin’ buddy from across the pond – Beefranck.
Beefranck, also known as Bridget to her chums, is the undisputed Queen of ironic cross stitch. Many people have come close to delivering quality stitchery with that sardonic sense of humour, but few have delivered such consistently high calibre humour.
She has an eye for a good pattern as well, and the retro styling of her borders adds to the overall effect – the juxtaposition between classic style and modern humour is spot on.
If you needed more of an idea of where she’s coming from – let’s face it, every little helps! – you should check out her flickr account which is an insight into her world, or follow her blog.
And if that wasn’t enough, she is the co-host of the awe-inspiring Emergency Pants podcast. A podcast so good, I’ve been on it a couple of times. If you’ve not heard it, you’ve not lived!
I’m really glad I got to know Beefranck, and I always enjoy seeing what she comes up with next. I’m particularly chuffed (that means pleased in English!) that she’s agreed to help me with this here website! That’s right – soon you will be able to get a good piece of that Beefranck action right here at mrxstitch.com..! How good is that?!

she does some fantastic work & i’m a huge fan. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a piece of hers & thought “meh.” kudos bridget!
