Craftster Pick of the Week – Curegreed

by Beefranck on 22 February 2009

Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the Needlecraft section at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.

The pick this week was done as part of a college project as an attempt to get away from the “traditional phallic symbols found everywhere in art.”

Well, you can’t get much further away than this!

Let’s face it – if you’ve been around craftster, you’ve seen your share of embroidered lady bits, all wonderful in their own way. The piece, created by curegreed, has a combination of elements to make it truly wonderful. The pink and white fabric was an excellent choice. I especially love the rays around it. They give the impression of a religious icon, or perhaps a “ta-da!’ effect.

I was already a fan of curegreed due to this beautiful Julianna Swaney embroidery she posted. If you want to see more of her work, you can check out her blog. I’m looking forward to seeing what she posts there and on craftster in the future!
