Today’s Emporium is an exploration of the adorably odd creations of Kit Lane.

Kit makes armies of Jacabunnies, Ursabobs, Burbles, and Nudipeds, among others. The little creatures at the perfect mixture of cute and unusual.

Kit does an amazing job of staging the pictures that showcase her work. They give the viewer a sense of a community of felties.

The skill of her work is evident. She is even able to make little doll felties for her felties!

Sometimes she makes pieces that seem really cutesy at first glance…

But when you take in the whole thing, some strangeness starts to come through.

Each of the little “oddjects” Kit makes has a distinct personality and a story that Kit tells for them. Like Neffy, a recent purchase of mine, who was posted on flickr with the caption “Are you my Mommy?” How could I say no?
Please visit Kit’s flickr photostream or her etsy shop to see more of her work. You can get your fill of cute and odd all in one place!

I think it should be a rule to make felted creatures look adorably strange. Or maybe it already is a rule?
