Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the Needlecraft section at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week. There’s a simple reason why LudicrousLouisa gets our pick this week. She made a terrific piece of embroidery based on a terrific film noir made by a terrific band.
Or to be more specific, she stitched a shot from “To Kill A Dead Man” by Portishead.
Louisa hit this piece dead on. Here’s the shot she took for inspiration.
If you don’t know Portishead, they were at the leading edge of the Trip Hop movement back in the 1990’s and their music is sublime. They’ve only done three albums, but if you know their style, you can understand why. For your viewing pleasure, here’s The Rip, one of my favourite songs from their last album Third, performed at the Coachella Festival.

Like I said in her craftster post, this is a great piece of stitch noir!
I agree with Tara, this is stunning.
