We love Mimilove Forever. She was featured here previously at Mr X Stitch in this post. Since that time, Mr X and I have been lucky enough to be involved in swaps with Mimi, and the result is this multiple stitchgasm.
Knowing Mimi’s work, the expectations were high, but she still managed to go above and beyond our wildest dreams. Look at this amazing portrait she did of Jamie’s hens, Rose, Wendy, and Simone de Beauvoir:
Gorgeous.
Mimi incorporated some of Jamie’s favorite things in this portion – comics, stitching, and his Mr X persona.
This is the portrait she did of my cat, Shampoo. She really captured her perfectly.
She included the outline of the Joel and the bots from Mystery Science Theather 3000, lyrics from Birdhouse in Your Soul by They Might Be Giants, and the knocking frog which serves as my avatar.
What’s amazing about these is the level of detail she included in each piece. Her painting and embroidery skills are exquisite, but add to that the research she must have done to put these together, not to mention the stalking our flickr photostreams. Both Mr X and myself are thrilled to bits with what she’s done. I can’t put into words how much I love the piece I received. It really is amazing.
