Happy Monday, everyone! I’ve noticed a lot of stitched poetry out there lately, so I thought I’d share some of it with you.

embroetry by yarnattacks

This is an excerpt from an ee cummings poem stitched by yarnattacks. The font and the simplicity works really well with cummings, don’t you think?

Larkin Fragment by Cauchy09

Cauchy stitched a portion of a Philip Larkin poem. You can read the entire poem here.

Tennyson by gableknits

Here’s a bit of inspiration from Tennyson, cross stitched by gableknits.

Poetry Doll by The7thMagpie

The Seventh Magpie not only wrote an original poem and stitched it, she stitched it on a doll as well. See more of her creations here.

Nobody by Gerfotos

Emily Dickinson, embroidered. My heart is full. Gerfotos is responsible for this. Check out her blog here.

The Midnight Velada by Smallest Forest

This might look like a hand written letter, but it is actually a poem that has been embroidered onto a linen handkerchief. Nat Quintos Uhing used variegated floss to add to the handwritten look of this piece. She even made a fabric envelope to keep it in. You can see more details about this and her other beautiful work at her blog.

Crazy Quilt Poem by Cathy Cullis

The creative Cathy Cullis not only stitched this poetry, but she wrote it as well. She more of here work here.

4th Element by Miki Karson

Miki Karson is a talented artist who uses poems and music as an inspiration for her pieces. This is her interpretation of this poem. Read more about the piece and the poem here.

It’s obvious that these poems hold a special meaning to the people who took the time and the effort to stitch them, and I’m glad that they did so and shared them with the world. I hope you enjoyed looking through them, too.

I can only echo ger, above…what a nice surprise! I feel like I’ve passed some kind of test… *does little dance, to the cat’s horror*
I’ve been following this blog of stitchin’ supahstars for so long, vaguely wondering what it would take to join the ranks but never believing it would happen. Then one morning I just am, it just did. How cool is that? Thanks!
