Craftster Pick of the Week – Embroidered Moleskine

by Mr X Stitch on 23 August 2009

It's the Craftster Pick of the Week

Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the Needlecraft section at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.

Kate, aka OhMyStars, participated in a Travelling Moleskine project with the theme “Crafty”. She decided to embroider a quote from Hippocrates in fonts by her hero Herb Lubalin.

OhMyStars Stitched Moleskine

I’ve never stitched on paper, but I imagine it’s fiddly to say the least. Kate nails this piece and delivers a piece of perfection.

It’s wonderful stuff. Find out more about Kate’s crafty adventures at her fantastic blog.

working on paper isn’t so hard- just have to be careful not to pull too hard, or the paper tears. And it might help to pierce the holes before stitching. Whipping the stitches might hide the holes poked in the paper. I love embroidery on non-traditional materials!

Thanks for sharing my project! Yeah, paper embroidery really isn’t that hard and Moleskine paper is the perfect weight for stitching – it doesn’t tear easily – and yes, i poked all the holes before stitching to make life easier.
