Flying spaghetti monster, anyone? And I have wanted to embroider a scene from the Aha video. (Don’t act like you don’t know which one I’m talking about!) It’s a black and white pencil drawing, it can’t be that hard…right?

sailormouth September 2, 2009 at 1:53 pm

Exploded diagram patterns. Usually these diagrams are mechanical drawings showing how things (electric motors, car parts) go together/come apart, but the idea could be extended to non-mechanical items.

I love the idea of twisted versions of kid’s nursery rhyme characters/fairy story characters but I’m sick like that ;)

Congrats on entering the world of pattern selling! Pop culture references and snark are always fun. How about monsters (zombies included)? Maybe even in a more pulpy style.

Oh man oh man oh man! I’ve been drooling over those redwork and blackwork pieces for a long time now (ok, depends on how you define “long”…but since I first saw them a few months back). More blackwork/redwork/bluework, please! Not that I don’t love Dr. Horrible…but what about some other quoteables (tv, movies, or otherwise). Ooooh…or blackwork Lovecraftian horrors. I can just see a grande-sized sampler of “Ia ia Ph’nglui Mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn!” With hearts, of course. And tentacles.

Robot. Photo. Booth.

OMG!! My favorite!!!!

I want to see more vintage patterns (pinups, kitschy kitchen stuff, old magazine ads, etc…).

And Zombies. The world needs more Zombies.

Reply

Janice September 2, 2009 at 2:44 pm

I like the idea of vintage low-tech patterns, e.g. typewriters, lawnmowers, sewing machines, bicycles and garden implements. Kind of domestic but not quite. Perhaps they’re already out there. Love the ones you’ve got already though. Fantastic.

Reply

Missy Ann September 2, 2009 at 3:11 pm

The pattern I want is the f’in internet meme series. I’ve been waiting months for them and I’m seriously out of patience. RELEASE THE FUCKERS ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luv & Kisses, Missy Ann

P.S. Zombies would be awesome too…

Reply

burgin September 2, 2009 at 3:11 pm

Ah, the delicate look of classic blackwork paired with the word penis! I’d like to get a grip on that pattern (and I haven’t stitched in years!).

Reply

Erica September 2, 2009 at 3:11 pm

I’d love to see some NSFW patters up for grabs… lmao

Reply

Giggly Mama September 2, 2009 at 3:26 pm

Wow! I love these patterns!! I like art deco style border patterns….and zombies. :-o

Reply

Kirsten September 2, 2009 at 3:46 pm

How about some NSFW patterns of the graphic (rather than linguistic) variety? And computer nerd patterns! Whether it’s binary or hardware or just geeky things to say.

I’m stoked about the patterns! I’m planning on purchasing, once I finish some of the ones I have on the go!

Reply

Krys September 2, 2009 at 3:47 pm

Pitbulls! Pitbulls rock. “Judge the deed, not the breed”.

Also skulls and skeletons.

Mr X Stitch, you are awesome.

Reply

Jessie Hansen September 2, 2009 at 3:51 pm

So my first thought was “NSFW” patterns, not that I would make them but you never know… but someone else already said that. Also, as other people said, Zombies and pinups would be great.

Reply

Caitlin September 2, 2009 at 3:54 pm

Zombies are a fab idea! More snark!

Reply

Devi September 2, 2009 at 4:13 pm

I got into crafts at the same time I got into comics and I used to hope I’d find cross stitch kits with superheroes. I’d still love to see some with the anatomically impossible figures, stupid costumes, and big hair that make comic fans embarrassed about the 90s.

Reply

Inky September 2, 2009 at 4:27 pm

I’d love to see some anatomically correct patterns of body parts, but like stitched up bits – hearts put back together with franken-stitching. brains with bolts. arms and legs stapled up. franken-bits!

Reply

Rachel September 2, 2009 at 4:56 pm

The other commenters are completely right: zombies & embroidery patterns! I’d love to see some good pin-up girl patterns, too.

TheMistressT September 2, 2009 at 5:10 pm

I second cryptozoology and would like to add “supportive, but snarky/tough” or something like that. Along the lines of “Fuck Cancer” for domestic violence, climate change, and the like – the current Needlework Challenge on Craftster got me thinking about this. I

Tiffany September 2, 2009 at 5:24 pm

first off, embroidery patterns are preferred over cross-stitch. but yeah. (and i know you are called Mr X Stitch)

fonts/handwriting.. sometimes the snarky/NSFW/etc. quote or words or whatever you want to use is the kind you want to create on your own! I love having different styles to use, and i’m sure you guys would come up with your own style.

i’d love some climate change/environment/politics/real world/news headlines etc.

and i am in agreement with “I like the idea of vintage low-tech patterns, e.g. typewriters, lawnmowers, sewing machines, bicycles and garden implements. Kind of domestic but not quite. Perhaps they’re already out there. Love the ones you’ve got already though. Fantastic.” AND “I’d love to see some anatomically correct patterns of body parts, but like stitched up bits – hearts put back together with franken-stitching. brains with bolts. arms and legs stapled up. franken-bits!” comments.

oh, and the five i want?
“all the birds are singing that you’re gonna die” quote
robot photobooth
Graffiti Cross Stitch 003 – Caos
Graffiti Cross Stitch 001 – Shye
Graffiti Cross Stitch 005 – Panika
(although crud.. i like that birdcage robot one too…)

I love the NSFW and zombie pattern suggestions – I would use those in a heartbeat!

Reply

Misty September 2, 2009 at 7:17 pm

Scenes from famous geek movies/tv shows, maybe?

Also, I MUST HAVE the robot photo strip now, please!

Jennifer September 2, 2009 at 7:39 pm

I love the Chuck Norris and the hoes. More embroidery and cross stitch of double take type patterns.

Schala-Kitty September 2, 2009 at 8:07 pm

I love all of the patterns! The internet meme ones make me want to really knuckle down and learn embroidery something proper.

My vote is for more of Beefranck’s subversive blackwork! I absolutely adore the look of blackwork and would be excited to see more with that twisted edge to it. If given a choice, I’d love to see the “O RLY” “YA RLY “NO WAI” owls rendered in this style.

Reply

Jo Ashcroft September 2, 2009 at 8:57 pm

NSFW definitely and more zombies, ghoulies and pop culture. Must embroider SPike or Willow soon!

Reply

ponyinarope September 2, 2009 at 9:01 pm

Great collections. Love the robots! I’d like to see some more snarky sayings. And zombies, of course.

Reply

Amanda September 2, 2009 at 9:15 pm

I agree with more zombies and Chthulu!

And someone said stuffy patterns, which I’d love to see! <3 It is hard to find good patterns sometimes for that sort of thing.

So i have a twisted humor when it comes to my studio. On the outside you see a very trendy/cutsy product. The studio is another matter. how about a husband being impaled with a sewing machine.

Love the stuff. I want them all!!!!

Robin September 2, 2009 at 10:46 pm

I love the cutesy look with the mean words. And anything related to Whedon is insanely awesome.

I’ve been PATIENTLY waiting for someone to design some Big Foot stitch patterns – and have yet to see it happen *sigh*

The hammer is my penis! Rad blackwork reference. I’m up for that.

Oh, and the Chuck.. You never mess with the Chuck. Noice.

MMM… My thoughts have already been expressed… Zombies, Giant spaghetti monster.

Oh, and I just popped my commenting cherry, right here…. Was it good for you? I was a little uncomfortable at first… but you were very gentle. I like that.

These are fabulous!

Those robot patterns are adorable!

As for things I’d like to see in the future, I’d like to see some steampunk or victorian embroidery. Cthulu would be cool, too.

…..What’s with all the zombie requests, though? I don’t get it.

Lindsey September 3, 2009 at 3:59 am

I’d like to see some monsters … maybe a little blood and guts. Love what you’ve got going on!

I’d love to see something Lovecraftian. Also, stuff inspired by scary movies like Evil Dead, Ghostbusters, Night of the Living Dead, etc. To be succinct, more terrifying cross stitch.

Kid Missile September 3, 2009 at 6:18 pm

Wow, all of these patterns are SO GOOD! =)

I’d like to see patterns for hilarious political quotes/flubs.

Reply

Nicole September 3, 2009 at 7:36 pm

I love the very British-looking “Oh hai!” piece. I like the thought of very proper griffins busting out a high pitched “Oh hai!”

Reply

Elizabeth Taylor September 4, 2009 at 12:20 am

I’d like to see some Blythe doll (or big eyed doll) patterns. And Celtic mythology designs–knotwork animals, perhaps. And I like the Day of the Dead idea!

Kittyzilla September 4, 2009 at 4:16 am

Aw, look at my little internet memes sharing space with all these other talented peeps. Exciting! And I have a bunch more, I think there’s going to end up being over 40 total.
Also, I CALL ZOMBIES! Can I do zombies? Please?

Reply

Becky September 4, 2009 at 5:05 am

Wow! You already offer so much cool stuff I know I’ll never get them all done!

How about Zombies or Zodiac symbols or Golden age of Hollywood faces or Boston Terriers?!

Reply

Jane P September 4, 2009 at 5:26 am

I Love the blackwork patterns. I’m not so into genitalia and rude words, but anything funky and funny would be awesome. I also love samplers done in a similar way. How about an alphabet chart? I love the font Beefranck uses.

Reply

Michelle September 4, 2009 at 6:01 pm

This has been a long time coming – I am SO excited and already know which patterns I’ll be buying. All for myself too – none of this “gifts for others” crap.
I’d like to see classic albums (of whatever decade) done in cross stitch. Perhaps in 2″ square size, so you could make them into those buttons we/I used to wear when I was a teenager. Am I dating myself? :-)

Reply

Heidi September 4, 2009 at 9:01 pm

I would love to see twisted fairy tales and dead unicorns. I am weird that way ;)

Reply

craftydame September 5, 2009 at 1:07 pm

wow, congrats on the pattern line!

people have some seriously awesome suggestions already! i love the idea of “franken bits”, pin ups, and alphabets for our own cranky messages! and NSFW of the image variety would be fab as well!

Reply

BeccaC September 5, 2009 at 8:21 pm

some steampunk stuff would be cool but I have been hunting for embroidery patterns with a kinky retro Betty Page/Emma Peel feel …knee highs boots, whips&crops corset wearing Dominatrix’s, handcuffs, ponygirls etc for years ! its odd but it seems easier to find nice wholesome genitals than pulp style fetish images

Reply

superhappyfunshine September 6, 2009 at 2:48 am

Scary fruits and vegetables! Carrots and tomatoes with razor sharp teeth!
