Happy Monday, everyone! This week I want to take a look at the angry faces of plush. I don’t know what it is – the flashing eyes, the bared teeth, the unheard growl – there’s something about a plushie on the edge that I just love.

I know, I know. Right now you’re thinking, “Um, Bridget? This isn’t a plushie.” It’s true. But it was actually this embroidery piece that inspired this theme. You can practically hear the roar, can’t you? And the colors that hellohappybetsy chose for this makes it grab your attention even more than it would have already.

This plush by Super Ninon looks like it might be bellowing into the night – perhaps in anger, or maybe regret? I sense… angst.

This creepy piece by Tobiah Mundt might be having a bad day. Or maybe it’s just always annoyed at being half bunny, half octopus. I mean, it IS an awkward combination.

This guy, Mulch, is cranky because somebody stole his biscuits. At least that’s what his listing says in talkproof’s etsy store, and I’m afraid to ask him.

This is Humphrey. He’s a Sextapus, and he was made by Vickangaroo. It’s hard to tell if he’s growling or is this is just his every day look.

These Punk Pickles from Scrumptious Delight have bad attitudes, you can tell. I mean, “punk” is right there in their name!

If I had to guess, I would say this is the sad side of the Happysad cat by loveandasandwich.

Maybe it’s the dapper hat, but this guy, made by Renee Lawter, reminds me of a dastardly villain from a silent movie. All he needs is a mustache to twirl, perhaps a cape, and he’s set.
I hope you all liked this week’s weirdness, and I hope to see you again next week for more!

I think this is my favorite plushie post ever.
The Octobunny is exquisite. It’s amazing what some people can do with felt. It crosses over from cute-angry, with little sewn-on teeth, to genuinely creepy, with its brow furrowed and its soulless eyes howling at you. It would keep my kids up at night in fear of the thing. I love it.
Another amazing collection! Seeing them all together like this helps me appreciate the differences in style more than when I see them separately.
