Thanks to Sweet Station for posting about Kristin Tercek, aka Cuddly Rigor Mortis, because I would not want to live in a world without her art. She has a fun style that is often macabre, and all of her works showcase a rich sense of humor.

But wait, you’re thinking, that’s not embroidery, cross stitch, OR a plushie! It’s true. But Kristin is multi-talented!

She made some “imps” – a few of them cute, bean shaped versions of classic horror characters like this wolfman.

Or this mummy.

Her dark sense of humor comes through in this gimp imp.

If you are so inclined, you can let the gimp out of his leather suit. He looks so happy!

This voodoo doll made with beautiful tapestry fabric is a bit more lush and illustrates great attention to detail.

This piece was designed for Plush It 2008. Her original idea was an autopsy, then a body split down the middle, and she eventually came up with this design. The style and the colors are wonderful, and the fact that you could unravel it and check out the insides is just so appealing.
You can see more of Kristin’s artwork and her plush creations in her flickr photostream. You should also check out her website where she sells her artwork, both original works and prints. I didn’t notice any plushies offered for sale in her store, but I’m hoping that one day, that might change.
