Hi everyone! Anatomy is a popular theme for embroidery, especially the heart. This week I wanted to take a look at some of my favorite hearts in stitches – anatomically correct, or not. 🙂

full heart by The Ephemeral Mailbox Museum

This gorgeous example was made by The Ephemeral Mailbox Museum. I love the effect of the lighter color on the arteries that are farther away from the heart. You can see more from her in her etsy store.

my heart by eitak671

This piece by Katie Anderson has a different feel to it, and almost looks like a sketch. See more from Katie at her blog.

The Heart by Emma Hands

Some of us wear our hearts on our sleeves. Emma wears hers on her shirt.

Patent Leather Heart from I Heart Guts

I love how unexpected this patent leather heart by I Heart Guts is – he looks a little emo, don’t you think?

Te Amo

This piece by Jessica Lopez reminds us that the heart is part of the universal language of love. See more from Jessica at her etsy store.

lonely heart by eanie meany

This heart from Cocoon Designs may be a simple shape, but don’t let that fool you – patching together all that recycled material in such a beautiful way must have been a lot of work! See more recycled goodies at her etsy store.

heart aflame by Michelle Clement

This tattoo-inspired Heart Aflame embroidery by Michelle Clement is very cool and superbly done. If you agree with me, it can be yours if you visit her etsy store.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Now I want to know – which heart do you heart the most?

I had planned on giving this to @johnroderick at the show last night, but I didn't have a chance to frame it. Sadsies. - 4 years ago

I love all these hearts but, tortured for a single choice, I would plead for two. Te Amo is so beautiful and inspiring and the Patchwork heart was obviously a labour of love. Just stunning!

I’m loving the colour palette and vibrancy of the patchwork one.
