Today is a special day here at Mr X Stitch, besides all of the fifth Friday shenanigans. We’ve reached our 1,000th post – this one!

Cheers! Fanfare! Whooping and throwing of hats in the air!

So it’s very fitting that this post is about something very exciting – the launch of the world’s best stitching podcast, Stitching ‘n’ Junk!

Each episode will feature Mr X Stitch and I chatting about stitchery topics, but there will be times when our conversations veer off in other directions. We’ll also have some stitchy celebrities dropping in from time to time – exciting! One thing is certain, it’s always going to be a good time.

In this episode of Stitching n Junk!:

Jamie and I tell our personal stitchy stories, discuss the quest for neat stitches and the possibility of using laying tools or the railroad technique to achieve them.

We chat with the amazing Julie Jackson of Subversive Cross Stitch and Kitty Wigs fame – WOW!

A few of the pieces were instantly recognizable, like this piece from Cross Stitch Ninja.

This tribute to Stephen Colbert is just ONE of the Subversive Cross Stitch patterns featured.

And this piece from my friend Rachel McKay!

It’s so exciting to know that this article will reach people who never even thought about cross stitch, and that they will see some of the amazing things that people are doing with the medium today.

Well it’s been a crazy couple of weeks here at Mr X Stitch!

There was an interview with me on Craft by the Queen of Subversive Cross Stitch, Julie Jackson, which was very groovy.

And I got name checked at thefrisky.com, where they said I was a cross stitch genius – a nice comment, but I am neither a genius nor am I cross. A bit grouchy sometimes maybe.

And then Beefranck’s Dr Horrible piece was one of the featured pieces in a post about stitching on WIRED.com! That’s right, WIRED!
How cool is that?

Seems like Mr X Stitch is truly becoming your number one resource for stitched based shenanigans!

If you’ve got any stitchy news to share, or stuff you think we should post about, email us:
mrx@mrxstitch.com
beefranck@mrxstitch.com

Heck why not just email us and tell us what kind of day you’re having. We love hearing from you!
