Pinning The Past with Ruth Singer

Following on from my post about the Indian textiles at the Victoria & Albert Museum, I’d like to introduce you to the medieval galleries and the many textile delights therein.  The majority of textiles on display are church textiles, usually made with the very finest cloth, thread and embroidery. You can find out more about late medieval embroidery in my article here.

There are also tapestries in the galleries and elsewhere in the museum, and you can find out more about them in my previous Pinning the Past posts here and here. The medieval galleries also house the amazing Tristan Quilt, which I wrote about here.
