Craftster Pick of the Week! – Bad-Mouthed Beatrix Potter Embroidery

It's the Craftster Pick of the Week - brought to you by Mr X Stitch!

Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the forums at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.
This week’s pick is brought to us by the lovely and talented TheMisstressT, Tara to her friends. Tara wanted to make something special for a friend who is battling cancer. She took this Beatrix Potter toile:

And made this:

Her stitching is simply exquisite, and the message is perfect. Here’s a closer look at those stitches and the inspirational message these whimsical animals are delivering:

All the details in this piece make it especially wonderful. The backstitching on the argyle sweater, the tiny red flowers, the combination thought/speech bubble – all perfectly executed and obviously stitched with love.
signed-with-loveTara mounted the piece herself and covered the back with this muslin, signing it in stitches.

It’s an amazing piece of work and a touching gift for a friend. If you’d like to see more, check out Tara’s original post here. You can also check out her flickr photostream or her etsy store to see more of her work. Go there now!
