Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the forums at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.
Have you met Ruby? You might have had the pleasure, as she recently starting posting her work on Craftster. She’s a subversive cross stitcher I have been stalking for about a year now on flickr. I love her. My podcast partner in crime Shane loves her – both in a creepy way as well as a “respect for her work” way. And MrXStitch loves her, too. So much so he bought this piece:
One of the most recent pieces she’s made that has caused quite a fuss was a comment on personal hygiene, or perhaps a lack of it:
She also recently posted a stitch that is good for those sweet, tender moments, when you are trying to express to your significant other exactly how you feel about them:
This is one she posted almost a year ago, but it is one of my personal favorites:
Ruby has also done some portrait work, specifically of her celebrity crush Hugh Laurie:
These are some of the many reasons we love Ruby. If you don’t already, we think that you should love her, too. If you would like to see more of her work, check out her photostream on flickr. If you want to own one of these wonderfully wicked works, you’re in luck – Ruby just set up shop at etsy! Go get some!
