Time for another look at some of the great work featured in the Needlecraft section at Craftster. Note: Although they’re the pick of this week, they may have appeared before this week.
The pick this week holds a very special place in my heart. I think I’ve seen the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show at least 100 times, probably more. I attended a Saturday midnight show regularly for a few years in my youth. I even wrote a term paper comparing and constrasting Rocky Horror Picture Show with the Catholic faith for my Theology class in college. Therefore, it is with a fair amount of awe and and respect that I say: Let there be LIPS!
Simply amazing work. The piece almost looks like a photograph at first glance. Believe it or not, this is shaebay‘s very first post on craftster!
She provided more pictures of the project in her photostream on flickr.
Here’s a closer look:
It took shaebay only 15 hours to complete this, all the while wrestling with 15 different shades of embroidery floss. And this was her 5th cross stitch project. Just amazing.
The generous shaebay has been kind enough to make her pattern available if you want to make a pair of these ruby reds yourself! Very cool!
If her first post is this great, who knows what treasures we’ll see from shaebay in the future? I can’t wait to see what’s next!
