Too Cute Tuesday – Fluffy Jamila by Hine

Let me be blunt. I’m in love with Hine’s creations. She is a magical artist in sculpted wool.

Fluffy Jamila by Hine. Needlefelted wool.

Her wonderful “Knock Off Tokusatsu Kaiju Series, Fluffy Jamila” is exuberantly imaginative, playful and expertly executed, all at the same time.

I purchased one of her Red Ants at the Needlefelting Extravaganza show at the Gallery Hanahou in New York back in 2011 and I feel so lucky to have a tiny piece of her artwork in my home.

Give yourself lots of time to enter Hine’s world by looking at her flickr stream, artist’s website and etsy shop.

When I look at her artwork I feel overwhelmed. Behind the cuteness there is so much depth. So much narrative to imagine. It makes me feel very alive.

Too Cute Tuesdays are brought to you in association with our friends over at Feeling Stitchy!
