Hello, Mr X Stitch here. I thought I’d tell you about my recent Xploits. It is a life less ordinary.
I’ve recently had the opportunity to climb two of the highest peaks in the United Kingdom, so I used them as an opportunity to promote #extremecrossstitch!
This is me stitching at the top of Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England.
And this is a much better view from the top of Mount Snowdon, the highest point in Wales! All being well, I’ll have a go at Ben Nevis next year and become the first man to cross stitch at the top of all three highest peaks in the UK!
In other news, the Knitting & Stitching Show is on again! Starting today in London, it moves to Dublin and Harrogate, and is filled with all manner of stitchy inspiration and shopping. I’m not exhibiting at it this year – remember the awesomeness of last year? – but feel free to innocently ask the organisers where I am! I’m going on Saturday and am looking forward to the Tilleke Schwarz show and the Japanese Connections exhibition.
As part of the National Centre for Craft & Design‘s forthcoming exhibition – Revolution in the Bedroom, War in the Playground – I’m going to be doing two workshops, where you’ll learn how to cross stitch Space Invader sprites! Join me on Friday 25th October and Saturday 16th November!
And finally, I’m doing a workshop with the Sip & Sew Society in Milton Keynes on Saturday 30th November from 1-3pm. There are still a few places left, so come along and we’ll Xstitch something Xmassy and have a good laugh.
If you’d like me to come and do a talk or workshop with your group, school or surly gang of ne-er do wells, contact me to find out more!
