Welcome to Quilty Pleasures where we celebrate Art Quilts, their creators and the cultural history of the humble quilt.
I recently found the works of Ian Hundley, but he has done his best to hide from me. I want to splash him all over the interwebs but we will just have to talk about him behind his back.
He doesn’t have a website but we know that he is a Canadian artist who now works in London as a tailor, while creating these marvellous quilts as a sideline.
BUT he does have some really remarkable quilts.
His quilts are pieced representations of landscapes. Bringing to mind farm land as seen from planes as well as urban zoning.
I think they are just lovely.
Despite his man of mystery status, I love his quilts and I hope he is more open about them in the future. Here he is:
