Like a Virgin, Posting for the Very First Time…

CurationismHello all, and welcome to Curationism! If you did’t read last month’s intro (that’s okay, I won’t hold it against you), I’m Ellen Schinderman. I’m an embroidery artist and curator, living and working in Los Angeles. I’ve been lucky enough to put up some super fun fiber shows the last few years and get to know and work with many amazing artists. Mr. X Stitch and I thought it would be fun to have monthly online mini-shows, hence, Curationism!

Now, I do have a show that I’ve curated, with many people who’s work you may know, and some you may not, up right now, so let’s make that the very first column. I’m quite proud of this show, “Put the Needle on the Record” (at Twilight Gallery, Seattle) and the artists involved. I think they found a great balance of diverse artists and musical images to represent and mediums with which to do so.

Here are some images from the show:

The show is up until Sept 15th, so if you’re in the Seattle area, go check it out for your self. And the majority of the show can be seen on Twilight’s website.

See you in October… it should be spoooooky…
