Lord Libidan’s Look Out – December ’17

lord libidans lookoutI always love December on Instagram; you just never know what awesome projects are going to turn up.

My Neighbour Totoro has to be one of my all time favorite animes, and there are always a slew of awesome stitches based on it. However this peice by @maschaxstitch is stunning. Its use of blues, something the anime really doesn’t have any of, makes it so vibrant.

In December we also get a lot of Japanese cross stitch coming through (I have no idea why), such as this brilliant FireBird stitch, a game not released in the Western world by chikiko

Lord Libidan
Born to British Aristocracy, the man now known as Lord Libidan discovered the art of cross stitch while in a Buddhist monastery high in the Himalayan mountains. After meditating on the craft for years, he emerged from his retreat ready to challenge the prevailing paradigm and elevate embroidery to new levels. Focusing his talents on video game and pop culture cross stitches, he produces work that pushes as the boundaries of the form.
