Chelsea and I came to know each other (online) as we were both members of the Plushteam. I consider her part of my plush family, so I was incredibly excited and proud to learn that she has a craft book published! With her amazing talent and dedication to her craft, I can safely say that no one deserves this more.
Chelsea, what an exciting new chapter (pun intended) in your career. How long have you been working on this project and how did it come about?
I was approached in late September by Potter Craft to do the Adventure Time Crafts book. They contacted me because they saw all the different Adventure Time crafts I had done in the past due to my obsession with it (embroidery hoops, plush, costumes, etc) I was pretty much in disbelief and incredible excitement when I read the email. I never really even dreamed that I would be asked to do something like this, and it is still pretty surreal to see my name next to Cartoon Network and Princess Bubblegum haha.
The reviews I have read have all been glowing, people are impressed with the clear and easy to follow instructions. What skill level are the projects?
The book was purposely made with the intention of being for all different skill levels, and all different types of crafting techniques. There are some childhood craft techniques like Perler beads and Shrinky Dinks and then more complicated items for the craftily confident like painted shoes and clothing.
I imagine this will be an enormously popular Christmas gift. Where can we get a copy? Will you have any signed copies available through your store?
They are currently available through Amazon and Random House if you want to purchase them online. You’ll have to check with your local book store if they’re being carried there. Sadly I’ve given away most of the ones that I had to fans, but I do have one left to giveaway!
What is next for Love and a Sandwich? Will there be more books in the future?
I don’t know! I sure hope there is. No plans currently, I try to live mostly in the now and it’s worked out for me so far hahah.
Chelsea has generously offered a signed copy for a giveaway. For a chance to win leave a comment under this post. If you don’t already you should flow Chelsea on instagram here and like her facebook page here. I will draw the winner on November 8th, the winner will be announced on the Love and a Sandwich Facebook page and Instagram feed and the winner will be contacted directly. Good luck!
