Too Cute Tuesday – Love & Hate rings by MaMagasin

I adore MaMagasin (a.k.a. Sarah Fordham) for turning thug life on its ear!

NOT MY WORK!! lovehaterings1

I recently saw these amazing Love & Hate rings in MaMagasin’s twitter feed and I instantly wanted them. Such a clever twist on the tattooed finger message.

Do you remember the first time you saw Love and Hate finger tattoos? For me it was the burly, philosophical Radio Raheem character in Spike Lee joint Do the Right Thing. (Although, this refers back to the Robert Mitchum knuckle tattoos from the film Night of the Hunter.)

And then Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons sported the tats, which were edited to fit the three-fingered Simpsons hands, as “LUV” and “HÄ€T”

MaMagasin has created a sweet little cross stitched button ring with a subversive edge. Wonderful twist!

Check out more of her lovely, playful, cross stitch jewelry (including some fabulous mustaches) in her etsy shop and follow her on twitter at @magasinsxstitch.

You will be charmed by her wearable stitching and fresh designs.

Too Cute Tuesdays are brought to you in association with our friends over at Feeling Stitchy!

  • Cute rings. I can’t remember the first time I saw the tattoos but it was in the 80’s. I also knew someone with LTFC on the fingers of one hand and ESUK on the other. Mesh the hands together and you get a “nice” invitation!!

  • Oooh, now let’s see those letters stitched up! One letter per finger. Go!
