Newsflash – Win Tickets to the Handmade Fair!!

It's a newsflash! Embroidery And Textile Art News From Mr X Stitch

I’m giving you advance warning of a great competition we’ll be having as part of our sixth birthday celebrations at the end of the month. We’ve got a total of ten tickets for the Handmade Fair to give away – pay attention on Friday 29th August to find out how to win!

Kirstie's Handmade Fair - 19th to 21st September 2014

As you should know, I’m taking part in the first ever Handmade Fair in September at Hampton Court. I’ll be doing cross stitch workshops, teaching up to 100 people at once each day. Trust me, you will have never been to a cross stitch workshop like this!

Try all the crafts at The Handmade Fair

There will be so many workshops to take part in and loads of amazing craft stalls, it’s going to be epic.

And I haven’t even mentioned the Mash-up between Deadly Knitshade and I on Friday morning!

Mollie Makes mash up
Since the dawn of time, civilisations have been plagued by fundamental questions that remain unanswered to this very day. At the Handmade Fair, we will try to answer one of the most profound:

– Which is cooler, knitting or stitching?

Join Mr X Stitch, the Kingpin of Contemporary Embroidery and Deadly Knitshade, one of the country’s most fearsome guerrilla knitter, as they showcase examples of their beloved formats to try and get to the bottom of this critical issue. Over ten rounds of battle, you’ll see some of the greatest pieces of modern knitting and stitching and have the chance to vote on which you prefer. At the end of the battle, we’ll tally up the scores and a winner will be declared!

When we asked them about the forthcoming face-off, Deadly Knitshade responded, “Mr X Stitch and his puny threads are no match for my raging wool, one needle ok, two needles bigger and better  — bring it!” Mr X Stitch was equally confident: “Deadly Knitshade will be reeling from the stitcheries I’m dealing!”

This is bound to be one of the most entertaining sessions at The Handmade Fair!
