PUSH Stitchery by Jamie Chalmers

PUSH: Stitchery – The Best Textile Art Book!

PUSH Stitchery by Jamie Chalmers

It is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to PUSH Stitchery: 30 Artists Explore the Boundaries of Stitched Art.

Curated by some wiseacre called Mr X Stitch (that’s me!), this book features 30 of the best contemporary embroidery and needlework artists on the planet. This is not hyperbole, check out this list of talent!

Each artist is interviewed in the book, to explore their inspiration and practice, and there are several large images of their work for you to enjoy!

I sought to feature artists who covered a range of topics as well as a range of media, and there are excellent examples of textile art from across the globe.

From machine embroidered landscapes, to cross stitch on cars, to sublime hand embroidery and intergalactic quilts, this book really covers the world of contemporary needlework!

I might be a bit biased, but that is an impressive display of stitchy talent and a true reflection of just how awesome the stitched arts can be.

It’s been a real honour for me to curate this book and I’m excited to see the project come to fruition.

The book is published by Lark Books –  you can buy it on AmazonPUSH: Stitchery - The Best Textile Art Book! right now!
