Winter Quilts ….

It is almost winter in much of the world It feels like winter where I live as I have had snow and chilly days and nights. I have been in the spirit of the holidays and have done up quilted table runners for presents and have finally, after many years of keeping a few treasured Christmas fabrics, begun a lap quilt for myself.
For this month’s column I wanted to find quilts that celebrate the many holidays at this time of the year but there was not the variety out there that I thought there might be! As such I thought a fun look at winter quilts would be fun and perhaps inspire us! Nothing like a yummy quilt in the winter! All the quilts I am presented can be found on Etsy and I am thrilled to offer some of those artists a little publicity.
The first quilt is a table runner or bed runner that is simply stunning. I love the color/fabric choices and the machine quilting is beautiful. It is made by QuiltFairyAnastazi

I love this one with doilies as snowflakes! It is such a soft and quiet lap quilt with a splash of artistic placement. You can find this one from NestEggCreations.

A very typical winter scene for many includes cardinals. I am not lucky enough to live where these beautiful birds do but love this traditional Christmas color palette that truly speaks of chill and nature. This winter quilt was made by CactusPenguin.

This next one is a softer palette that is very contemporary and also very cozy with a winter feel. I love the varying block designs and subtle colors. This comes from LakeShoreSewing.

We return to a selection of blues that I find very festive and bold. They would make a perfect table centerpiece. You can find these table mats from QuiltSewPieceful.

Last but not least is a snowman that makes me smile. I adore the various fabric scraps and 3 dimensional look of this little mug rug. This adorable festive piece is from ScrappyQuilter.

I hope you got some inspiration from some of my finds here on winter quilts. I also hope that you have a wonderfully magic winter season and if you celebrate any holiday I hope those are equally as magical!
