This weekend was the 2017 Spring Knitting & Stitching Show in London, and it was the third outing for the Mr X Stitch Inspiration Station!
As well as some of the finalists from this year’s Young Embroiderers‘ De Denne competition, responses to the theme of Imprisoned Splendour…
And a couple of my favourite local artists, the mighty Jess de Wahls…
And the magnificent Stewart Easton!
We had a good few days inspiring people and encouraging them to stitch something for Betsy Greer’s #yasvb (You Are So Very Beautiful) project and we got lots of lovely stitched phrases that will be placed in random public locations to make people smile.
It was great to spend time with Jess and to be graced by the presence of Betsy and the terrific Olisa Corcoran who travelled over from the US to hang out with us!
It’s fair to say that everyone who came along had a good time, and it was super rewarding to see people of all ages having a stitch and a natter and walking away feeling relaxed and happy.
A massive thanks to everyone that came, everyone that helped and to those of you that missed it, with a bit of luck I’ll be back again next year! 🙂
