The Cutting (& Stitching) Edge – Stitch & Craft 2010

Contemporary embroidery art via Mr X Stitch

Shameless plug time! Today is the first day of the Stitch & Craft show at Olympia in London.

The show runs from 17th to 20th March, covers three floors and is split into three distinct zones – Knitting, Stitching and Crafting. There are heaps of exhibitors and stands where you can buy the materials and tools that you need to get your craft on.

Murder Presents!
The reason I mention this is that I will be having a stand there for the four days! You may recall I did a call out for stitcheries from people a while back – well I’ve got over 50 quality pieces of stitch that will be exhibited at the show, including the ones featured in this post.

If you come along you can also have a go at cross stitching as my merry band of volunteers and I will be holding drop-in workshops from 11am to 4pm on all four days. We’ll show you how to stitch a basic alphabet and once you’ve mastered that you’ll be well away.

I’ll also be doing a presentation each day at the Cross Stitcher magazine stand, where I’ll be taking people on a whistle-stop tour of some of the pieces you can find at our Flickr group, the Phat Quarter.

If you’re reading this and you’re near London, come along! There’s heaps of inspiration, and I’m sure that the show will be a fantastic success. I’m on the ground floor, in the far left corner, and we’ll be playing some nice tunes as we get our groove on.  See you there!
