This is the boat which transported my Grandma from Nazi Germany to England in 1939. Her story of migration has strongly shaped my heritage and I am thankful to the kindertransport programme for offering my Grandma the chance to flee persecution and to build a new life in England.
(My Grandma arrived in Southampton and settled in Prestwich Manchester. I was born in Manchester in 1982 and I still live in here.)
