As a person of mixed heritage (half Chinese and half English) I’ve always found it difficult to figure out which culture I belong to or where I could call home.
As the years have passed, I’ve come to realise that being between two cultures is a blessing, and I can think of no other way to celebrate diaspora than through food.
“The Corner Shop” is a snapshot of my kitchen cupboard at home and represents the melting pot of cultures in Lewisham, London.
I hope that some of these items hello spark a sense of nostalgia, home comfort and intrigue into unknown territories.
