Stitchgasm! – Bunting by Collier-Wilson

Bunting. It could be something so tame. Simple colored flags decorating an outdoor scene. Something that belongs in the background, that helps to define a space, that is sweet but fairly inconsequential.


Not so, the glowing triangles of public art created by Rachel Collier-Wilson!

Each cotton banner is a canvas for her machine embroidered “sketches” of the female form. On what appears to by hand-dyed fabric.

How lovely it would be to stumble upon such a gorgeous piece of textile art out in the world, blowing in the breeze, with the sunlight shining through and lighting it up like stained glass.
