Even-star made this embroidery for her faithful cat, Murray, who passed away last year. According to even-star, Murray had “a sad face even when he was happy.”
This is beautiful and sweet in its simplicity. Murray must have been quite a cat, and even-star is a very talented stitcher.

A rather artful use of scant few lines and curves. I’m quite keen on this.
Technique question: Is that a vine stitch on the outline of the cat?

beautiful! I lost my kitty last year to heart failure and I started this really ambitious cross-stitch of him… it’s so soothing to work on it, but it’s sometimes hard to stitch through the tears. This is a lovely tribute to Murray, who’s sad face is making me smile.
