Stitchgasm! – Fly Agaric by Mother Eagle

I was surprised to find out that Mother Eagle made this piece to practice stitches that were new to her – satin stitch, french knots, spider-web stitch, seed stitch, to be precise.

Final piece

The finished piece looks so lovely you’d think she’d been using those techniques for years.

You can read more about this piece at her blog, and see more lovely stitchy things at Mother Eagle’s Flickr photostream.
