I love Louise Riley‘s work – she is always pushing at the edges between embroidery and performance art. Her latest work is called Always Now (Almost).
Here’s what Louise had to say: “This is an embroidery of my ex-husband. He wants to live forever, so I was thinking about how to do that virtually, So I came up with this, if the fan is on the hair it is always moving and never the same, the embroidery depicting him is always in the Now. Perhaps if someone sponsored it, the fan could keep blowing for an infinity and I could give him the gift of some kind of immortality, or until the cleaner pulls the plug….”
