Stitchgasm! – Maritza Soto Stitches Scott Brown

Another Stitchgasm from Mr X Stitch

Maritza Soto makes a lot of adorable plushies. Recently, though, she was inspired to stitch Scott Brown, the winner of Cosmopolitan magazine’s “America’s Sexiest Man” contest in 1982.

What is Scott doing today, you ask? He’s a Senator. So of course there’s been some discussion about this centerfold picture of Mr. Brown, and here’s Maritza’s two cents about it:

“The thing that gets me about this whole Cosmo blather is that had it been a female candidate, or *gasp!* a Democrat, they would have been dragged through the mud over this. Again, not that I think it’s something worth dragging anyone through the mud over, but a female candidate would have been judged so harshly for this. Instead of the media loving it in such a “Ha ha! Omg! I’d get down with Brown!” kinda way, there would be tons of outrage and sexist scrutiny. Anyhow, getting off my soapbox now. This is a WIP for a friend whose motto is “Don’t blame me; I didn’t vote for the naked guy.”

Thanks to Maritza for letting me share this work in progress! Apparently there’s a lot more hair to add. A lot more.
