Happy Christmas! We are literally two weeks away from the big day and I am in full Christmas spirit. Its also quite possible that I'm 80% mulled wine, mince pies and advent calendar chocolate - but I am fine with that. Are you super organised and ready for Christmas? Or are you (like me) a bit stuck for present ideas? Into the last minute gift scenario. If so, I am here to help! Because what's better than spreading the gift of embroidery?! Or if you are serial stitcher you may just want to do some self-gifting and treat yourself to some new embroidery goodies... you deserve it. So I have compiled a list of my favourite pieces that any stitcher would be happy to find under the tree. Snow Bunting Metal Thread kit by Becky Hogg 1: Any kit by Becky Hogg is a win in my book, but this Snow Bunting one is just gorgeous. She has many kits to suit all levels of embroidery and all the kits come with full instructions and materials. (The Heron Kit is another stunner - I want them all). A festive little kit by goldwork aficionados The London Embroidery School - it comes with all the materials you need and with two designs and three embroidery skill levels to choose from its the perfect project to work on over the Christmas break - find it here. goldwork Giftset by London Embroidery School 3: Or if you don't fancy a kit, but just fancy the materials so you can freestyle and come up with your own festive design? Hand and Lock's Luxury Embroidery Kit 4: Another materials set is the Hand and Lock Luxury Embroidery Kit - and my, it is luxury. I want this and I have all this stuff already (I'm a sucker for a fancy gift box with a ribbon). It has everything, and I mean everything you need to start on your goldwork journey. But if this doesn't take your fancy, Hand and Lock have plenty of things any crafter will love, from goldwork badges to scissors. 5: Anything from Golden Hinde Embroidery, is a win in my book too. Not only do they have an amazing wealth of kits and materials they have also written an actual book on goldwork - which I reviewed in a previous post (you can find it here). They truly are a one stop shop for goldwork with everything you could want and need. 6: Finally, any stitcher would be happy with a pair of scissors. And my favourite are Merchant & Mills Scissors. Every year my Christmas list features at least two pieces from M&M and this year will be no different. And If you ever are in Rye I recommend visiting their shop - its sewing paradise! This Scissor Wrap has been on my Christmas/ Birthday list (they are annoyingly close together) for about the last three years, yet the other half is yet to comply...one year maybe... And that's it, a brief round up this month because we all have better things to be doing at Christmas, and there is also some sort of election going on this week too....
