Mr. X Stitch is turning 10 years old this month, can you believe how time flies? I took over this column in January 2013, but it got started under the direction of Moxie Lieberman in 2011. That's 7 years of needle felt! In that time, the medium has exploded in popularity. I myself am celebrating my 10 year feltiversary this year and I've gone from knowing the names of a handful of other felt artists to seeing new ones pop up all over the place! In this column, I would like to highlight some of the artists who have made the journey with us and who are still out there stabbing away. Stephanie Metz (previously here) Stephanie Metz is currently working on a massive, collaborative felt installation that will debut in 2020! Follow the project on her Instagram. Mariangela Tan (previously here) Mariangela Tan's latest exhibition, Bloom, features sweetly felted faces nestled in gorgeous blossoms. Follow her latest work on Instagram. Shana Kohnstamm (previously here) Shana Kohnstamm's work focuses on the calming influence of the felting process: "art as an antidote". Follow her latest work on Instagram. Kit Lane (previously here and here) Kit Lane creates both intricate sculptural art pieces and adorable pocket-sized felt companions. Her Jacabobs and Jacabunnies are adored by all! Get one of your own from her shop! Yvonne's Workshop (previously here) Yvonne is dedicated to producing some of the most lifelike felt creatures around! There is just one more thing I would like to note: as I am based in the US and Mr. X in the UK, we realize that we might be missing out on some amazing felt work happening internationally.
