Milkfly | Mr X Stitch

Food glorious food! I hope since last month's 'Exploring Etsy' you've all worked up a healthy appetite for even more needlecraft delights. No need to pack a picnic for this month's crafty expedition across the Atlantic, our uber talented maker this week has kindly created a veritable feast for us all to partake in. The wonderful Huong Huynh and her shop 'Milkfly' is the most wonderful larder full of fabulous, felty food and for a lifelong vegetarian like myself even some of her more meaty offerings look absolutely mouthwatering. The amazingly talented Huong Huynh was born in Malaysia and raised in Texas, where she continues to live and work today. She earned a degree in Painting and Art History at the University of Houston. Creating and making has always been a natural part of her life and in my opinion there is no greater testament to that than her absolutely stunning work. What is your earliest stitching memory? I would make clothes for my barbie dolls. I didn't know how to include closures or fasteners so I would pop off the head and arms to get the clothes on. What fires your imagination? I love observing the natural world. It's this feeling of awe, wonder and love that is the muse behind my work.
