The Cutting (& Stitching) Edge – Nike Schroeder Part Two!

Contemporary embroidery art via Mr X Stitch

For the next few weeks, the Cutting (& Stitching) Edge is sharing the work of LA-based Nike Schroeder.

Last week we shared some of her Edgar Herbst series, and we have some more pieces from that series for you here.

Nike has recently completed a couple of self-portraits, which gives a further indication of her mad skills and wry sense of humour…

I really enjoy the illustrative style of these pieces. They remind me of Marloes Duyker and Meagan Ileana, but the energy and wit in the pieces makes them unique.

In case you missed it, we also featured Nike in the latest NSFW Saturday post with her Flesh Ideal pieces. It’s great stuff!

You can find out more about Nike on her website, but be sure to check back here next week for more of her terrific work!

The Cutting & Stitching Edge is brought to you in association with PUSH: Stitchery, the must-have embroidered art book by Mr X Stitch !
