The work is about family, love and a heritage of makers and artists. The background is for my Dad, Ginger Watts, who instilled a love of making and was a huge influence. Paper piecing patchwork is for my grandmothers, both seamstresses and childhood days spent stitching with them. The spaces filled with Thread kisses are for my parents, sadly missed. Wool and scraps coloured with natural dyes are woven into the comfort and peace which making brings.
A garland of flowers for my partner, the gardener and a lifetime of campaigning for the earth, a hand seals our craft and unites us.
