My work denotes a story of migration and belonging to a crowd by symbols used. You will see a nod to my painting of my portrait – “Inner Isolating Scream”, a time when I was struggling with my mental health especially during the pandemic. I do have episodes of anxiety and depression and like many, these feelings were heightened at this time.
There is a butterfly which as a spiritual person represents change, transformation and a sense of hope, these feelings resonate with me whilst supporting and managing my mental health but are also transferable emotions when guiding my own children. You will see things with a reference to my work and a nod to the idea of Klimt’s work within his painting Hope I/ Hope II.
