Featured Places: Blackburn, Lancashire & Zambia
My parents left Blackburn, Lancashire in the 1940s to live in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia).
This is where I was born and spent my early years, before traveling to the U.K. in 1968 to attend Blackburn College for a two year Art Foundation. I continued my studies at Harrow School of Art. Living and working in London until I moved to Essex where I have lived by the Thames for the last forty years.
My textile image charts the journey that both myself and my parents made, overlaid by an outline of the County of Essex.
