Natalie Horton is a third year student currently at Bath Spa University studying a BA in Creative Arts. She makes cells.
Well alright, technically all sentient beings make cells, but Natalie makes them from felt and PVC and stitching.
There’s something very modern and stylish about them. And also something slightly fetishistic.
It’s great work, from a technical perspective the work in stitching the cells together is commendable. It will be interesting to see what she comes up with next.
For more of her work, including her knitted cell patterns, check out her Flickr photostream.
Welcome to Manbroidery, a series of interviews with men who stitch. This time we interview Walter Bruno Brix who plays with textile illustration to explore history and identity.
