Textile Art Book Reviews

At Mr X Stitch we love to review textile art and embroidery books for you. There are so many great books to discover, packed with needlework inspiration and textile techniques, so we dive into each book to find out what’s good, what’s bad and let you know why you should pick it up.

Zombie Cross Stitch

If you’re a fan of the Undead, and let’s face it, who isn’t these days, then you’re going to love this Zombie Cross Stitch kit by Erika Kern and Kristy Kizzee!

It features twelve cross stitch patterns that are guaranteed to put a smile on your (decaying) face and comes with enough materials for you to crack on with stitching them straight away.

From simple phrases to more complicated designs, these patterns hit the balance just right, presenting a challenge that is surmountable for beginners, or those whose main passion is eating brains.

I think this kit is a terrific idea, long overdue, and I’m pleased to report that it doesn’t disappoint. The accompanying booklet provides instruction on how to get going and is well thought out.

Sure, the patterns may be a bit easy for the more experienced cross-stitcher, but it’s a brilliant way to introduce new people (living or dead) to the joys of cross stitch and I’m sure it will be a great success.

You can buy the kit from Amazon, and probably from a few open-minded Voodoo doctors as well… 🙂

Oh and if you like Zombies, we’ve got another great book recommendation for you!
