Angharad Jefferson is an embroidery superstar from Scotland.
She studied embroidery design at Glasgow School of Art, and up until recently was a freelance embroidery designer. The good news for us is that she has now starting producing her own work.
Angharad combines hand embroidery and free machine embroidery to produce fantastic embroidered pictures. One of the things I love is her subject matter – the Scots among you will recognise some of the characters in her Flickr photostream as classic Scottish icons.
There’s lots to like about Angharad’s work – her choice of textiles and her skill in characterisation are two of her strengths. It’s clear how talented she is and I’m glad that she’s bringing her work to a wider audience now. It’s going to be great to see what else she produces and I’m saving my pennies already so I can get one of her cushions.
You can find out more about Angharad at her website, show her your love on her Flickr photostream and buy her work at her etsy store.
Whaddya think?
