English textile artist Mrs Bertimus is a self described art tutor, painter and “maker of things”. Those “things” she makes are absolutely gorgeous textile creations, stitched with much love on her trusty (but a bit rusty) sewing machine that she’s had since she was just thirteen.
Mrs Bertimus mixes her freestyle machine embroidery with other found textiles, buttons and embellishments to create rich, textured pieces of art.
She works out many of her pieces before hand in beautiful sketches, before she digs in with stitches and other forms of mixed media. She also includes some hand embroidery in her textile pieces.
Check out her blog for more photos and a great look at her creative process, and then sneak on over to her Etsy store if you want to snag a textile creation for yourself!
